Welcome To The
Blacksburg Jewish Community Center

The BJCC is a lay-led and egalitarian unaffiliated synagogue in southwest Virginia providing a wide range of Jewish religious, educational, cultural and social activities for Blacksburg and the New River Valley.   We welcome visitors and hope you will join us for Shabbat services or for our monthly potluck lunch or one of our other activities and become a part of this community.

Shabbat morning services are held every Saturday throughout the year, starting at 10am.   We typically alternate between Reform and Conservative services from week to week, to accommodate the variety of backgrounds of our members. We use the Reform Gates of Prayer siddur and the Conservative Sim Shalom siddur for their respective services.   The month's schedule of services is given in our monthly newsletter, the Shofar-- see below.   Hillel students conduct Friday evening services at 7:15pm when Virginia Tech is in session.

We also provide full High Holiday services each year as well as other special services for festivals and holidays; a religious school for children on Sunday mornings; and other activities meant to make Jewish life richer, stronger, and more enjoyable in Blacksburg and its surroundings.
