Club ActivitiesFor many years we have been involved in the activities provided by the sandlot program with the Parks and Recreation. In 2009 we took ownership of the Wilderness Trail Festival held in Downtown Christiansburg. We are about to enter the second year of our backpack program, sending the Kids with the Head Start program home each Friday with nutritious snacks for the weekend. Each year, we set up a Christmas tree lot on Roanoke Street next to Thompson Tire. Christmas trees are available for purchase and all proceeds benefit our programs for children.Additionally, each year, we sponsor the Kiwanis Kids' Christmas party where area children chosen by the school systems are given the opportunity to come to St. Paul United Methodist Church and have dinner and visit with Santa. This year, we provided toys and our members provided clothing gifts for 40 children.
