Trout-A-Ree
Our Trout-A-Ree is scheduled for May 18 in Blacksburg. This will be our annual
FISH FRY. Remember if we don't catch fish, we won't eat. There are other types of fish in the pond, but we are
only allowed to keep the trout. All other fish must be put back. If you are interested in fileting fish, please
bring your filet knife and a board to filet the fish on. If you would like to learn to filet fish, bring a filet
knife and a board to filet fish on and we can teach you in a few short minutes. We will also have the usual, hush
puppies, coleslaw, drinks, and such. This is a fish fry not a cookout.
Pack Meeting
As we near the close of another great Scouting year, all the scout are working
hard on getting their achievement badges, arrow points, and belt loops. May 22 is our graduation ceremony and I
look forward to presenting a lot of awards. So prepare yourselves for a great night. It will also mark the end
of our program. During the summer months we do not hold any regularly scheduled den meetings, however we still
get together as a pack once a month for an activity. This summer we have planned a Family cookout in June, a Pool
Party in July, and a round of Putt Putt for August. September will mark the beginning of the new year. Our Pack
Committee will be working hard during the summer months to plan another great program for the upcoming year.

New River District News:
New River Day Camp:
Our Day Camp this year will again be at Camp Alta Mons and will be chaired by the
one and only Carl East. The event will be held on June 16-20. Early registration fee for camp is $45 prior to
May 31, 2008. This fee includes an event patch and t-shirt. Early registrations will also be entered in a drawing
for a Nintendo Wii Game System. You must bring with you to camp a Class 1 Health Form for every person (youth
and adult) who attends camp. For additional information and to download a health form, go to: www.bsa-brmc.org/daycamp.htm.
A New Twist:
Due to the limited amount of cyberspace storage we have for our web-site, we are
restricted as to how much we can place on our site. We are experimenting with a new twist. We plan to add links
to web-sites created by our den leaders that will enable us to showcase the creative abilities of our den leaders.
With the extra storage space, the possibilities of what we can do will be unlimited.
If you would like to get a glimpse at this new twist, click here
to get linked up.
Personal Health and Medical Forms:
We also need to collect a Personal Health and Medical Form. Every Scout in the pack is required to have an updated
form on file.

Join Scouting Anytime:
If you have a friend who would like to join the Pack 141 family, please let them
know that they may sign up any time. There is no time deadline for them to join and Cub Scout Applications are
available throughout the year.

Become A Volunteer:
We are still in need of adult volunteers to fill some vacant position in
our Pack. In order for our Pack to be strong and to continue to provide the best program, we need you to step up
to the plate. With new volunteers, we gain new ideas. With new ideas, we gain strength. With strength, we gain
power. With power, we gain the ability to make our program the best. And we do all of this because we LOVE OUR
CHILDREN. So, please step up to the plate and become an adult volunteer. The Pack can only be as strong as those
who volunteer their time and efforts.
Yours in Scouting,
George A. Evans
