Max D. Nichols - Statement of Faith
The family into which I was born already had roots firmly established in the Church of God Reformation Movement. Grandparents of my mother and father were faithful and loving supporters of the Church of God long before I was born. They were actively involved in the life of my home church in Oak Hill, West Virginia.
At age twelve I accepted Christ and began my journey toward heaven. Through all the joys and sorrows that are inherent with growing up my Christian experiences flourished. It was because of the godly influence of men and women who loved God, the truth and the Church with all their being. It was through their influence and support that Christ, the oneness of God's people, holiness, love and fellowship of the saints became a reality in my life.
God put His hand on my life and called me into the pastoral ministry prior to 1966. But it was not until that date that events in my life showed me that I would never be happy until I personally obeyed His call upon my life. It was shortly thereafter that I entered Gulf-Coast Bible College (now Mid-America Bible College), and began the most joyful experience in my life. I am more excited about serving Christ and pastoring in the Church of God than ever.
