Our Logos Program
LOGOS... the Word

LOGOS is a wonderful mid-week program for children, youth and adults here at Northside Presbyterian Church and our community.

Children enrolled take part in all four parts of the program. The four parts are: Worship Skills, crafts and Recreation, Bible Study and Family Time.

  1. Bible Study

The goal of Bible Study is to nurture our children and youth into intelligent, biblically informed disciples, helping them to know and understand the Bible. Along with regular attendance in other church programs, the LOGOS Program strives to encourage youth to apply what they have learned to other aspects of their lives. Bible Study provides the foundation upon which the rest of the LOGOS Program is designed.

  2. Worship Skills

Active participation in worship is the center of a congregation's life. Participation of youth and children in worship benefits the entire congregation. LOGOS time for worship skills is designed to develop responsibility for and practice in worship participation. This program will include choir, chimes, and other meaningful ways for the children and youth to participate in Sunday morning worship services.

  3. Recreation/ Playtime

The goal of recreation is to have fun at the expense of no one else. Crazy games that get everyone moving and laughing allow everyone an equal chance at fun. Quiet games and crafts allow creative options. Visiting adults can share skills and ideas and much love. Relationships are built as children and adults reveal themselves in play and share joys.

  4. Family Time

Each family time has a theme, and family fun time after dinner allows each participant to experience "holy hilarity," making the dinner hour a joyous, intergenerational celebration.

Family time is the one period in which all LOGOS participants are together. Dinner is shared together around tables led by table parents. The meal is served family style, giving everyone the opportunity to serve one another. This time provides the opportunity for cultivating unselfishness and sharing. It builds enthusiasm, devotion and a strong regard for others. A unique sense of the family of God develops as LOGOS members and adult table parents share a meal every week.
