MISSION STATEMENT

Master Gardeners are committed to learning and to communicating their knowledge of gardening to others. Master Gardeners will direct their efforts to creating and maintaining an awareness of the need for intelligent stewardship of the environment.

 

 

Announcements:

  • First Annual NRVMG Plant Sale Saturday May 5th 10am - 4pm Extension Office
    Please Email Gwen Ewing recycle.compost@gmail.com with a list of what you are going to bring (helps on organizing items for sale). Start dividing and potting up now. We suspect “new and unusual” will sell better than ordinary, but ordinary at decent prices should sell too. Do not be shy! Someone might like what you have!

  • New board elected!  Congratulations to Connie Lawson,  Ini Beckman, Rosemarie Sawdon, Lynn Brammer, Gwen Ewing, Ms. Fern, and Ms Jones. Bob Lockwood comes on as new treasurer.    Thanks to Helen Young,  Jack Selcovitz, Keith Mileski for their serving on the board for 2010-11.

  • Schedule for the 2012 training class Classes are starting in the the NRV in January. Classes usually meet twice a week in Christiansburg or Blacksburg.   See schedule
  • We need photos!   Please take pictures of any happenings!  If you need advice on downloading off your camera, feel free to call me 544 7359.  No, they do not have to be "pretty" - but try not to take at really low resolution - makes for fuzzy " expansion " just some idea of what the project/grant is all about.  One picture (full screen) :  Christiansburg library grant.   • Please try to turn in timesheets once a month.  Sorry, new policy.
  • Bulb sales are (still!) on to fund a field trip. Please see: www.bloominbucks.com and select "New River Valley....".  This is Brent and Becky's Bulbs in Gloucester, VA. If we want to keep funding grants we need income.  Now is the time to start planning your early spring flower!
