2012

NRVMG is in the process of sending out letters to prospective grants recipients for 2012.  Here is the application letter (Word).  We are currently accepting applications; money will be awarded spring of 2012 (hopefully end of March).  Educational  and enviromentally friendly grants get a definitive edge over beautification projects, but enriching peoples lives is not a small thing, either. 

2011

The NRVMG Association is pleased to announce that we have awarded nine grants for the 2011 summer season.

Belview Elementary - Beth Umberger -  They are continuing the garden on the school grounds which was successfully started in 2010.
Harding Avenue Elementary - Mae Hoover, liaison. They want to do some vegetable gardening with some of their "at risk" students
Eastern Montgomery Garden Club - Jack Selcovitz, liaison. This is a project employing plastic five gallon "buckets" to grow vegetables in the Shawsville area. Training classes will be held. 
Pulaski County 4-H - Steve Hale, liaison. Pulaski already have two greenhouses at elementary schools and are expanding to a third. They grow flowers and veggies to plant on grounds, sell and have 4-Hers take home.
Pulaski County Public Libary - Michaelene W Balconi liaison. Expanding an existing garden and add a childrens garden
Christiansburg Public Library - Erica Jones, project leader. Install and hold classes on "how to" for a small patio water garden. 
Heritage Hall - Lynn Bramer - Continue growing veggies/flowers in raised beds (from last year)
Montgomery Museum - Beth Umberger - Label plants in garden, develop flyer
Eastern Montgomery Elementary - Helen Young, liaison. Develop garden there at the school.

Liaisons - we need pictures!  PICTURES!! Please!! The board will be doing a "informational display" in the fall.
