• January 29, 2011 (1 p.m.): Seventh Annual Frosty 5K. Blacksburg, VA. Free Fun Run at 12:30. Results. Due to the beautiful weather (although windy), we had a record turnout. By far the biggest Frosty ever. | Photos from the race

• February 27, 2011 (Sunday: 1 p.m.): 26^th Annual Blacksburg Classic 10 Mile & 5K. The Blacksburg Striders 26th edition of the Blacksburg Classic had the highest turnout in history. The 487 finishers (223 finished the 10 miler and 264 completed the 5K) took advantage of 60 degree weather and low winds. | Results and photos

• May 21, 2011 (10:30 a.m.): Hilly Chili 5K, Feel the Burn! (Radford, VA). Fun Run at 10:00, and Health Fair 11 to 3. | Results.

• June 18, 2011 (8:30 p.m.): Downtown Sundown 5K, Blacksburg, VA. A Summer Solstice Fest run/walk, sponsored by the Blacksburg Striders and the Downtown Blacksburg, INC to benefit Blacksburg High School Cross Country and Track & Field programs. Part of Summer Solstice Fest. | Results

• July 4, 2011 (Monday, 8 a.m.): 30^th Annual Shawsville 5K, Shawsville, VA. | Results.

• August 4, 2011 (Friday, 6:30 p.m.): Draper Mile. The 30^th annual Draper Mile. Results are at the Draper Mile Web site.

• October 29, 2011: Brush Mountain Breakdown. The 15 mile and 8 mile races (10:30 a.m.), and 5 K race (10:00 a.m.) are all on trails inside Pandapas Park, which is part of the Jefferson National Forest. Results

• November 5, 2011 (9 a.m.): Eighth Annual Shawsville Cross Country 5K, Camp Alta Mons at Crockett Springs. Run for the Food Pantry. | Results

• December 24, 2011 (10 a.m.): Ninth Annual Frosty 5K (Blacksburg, VA). | Results

• February 18, 2012 (1 p.m.): 26^th Annual Blacksburg Classic 10 Mile & 5K. (Fun Run at 12:20 p.m.). | Web site | Online registration February 1 is the last day for the early-bird registration rate. Regular registration starts on February 2.

• April 7, 2012 (9 a.m.): 2012 Roanoke River 5K Run/Walk (Rivers Edge Sprots Complex, Roanoke, VA). | Regisration form. .

• April 28, 2012: Stick-Man Mud Run (Sinkland, Farms, Christiansburg, VA| Directions). Stick-Man donates $5/ticket to I-6:8 Foundation, which provides support to families of feloniously-killed law enforcement officers in the interim until death benefits can be paid (which shockingly can take up to months). | Web page.

• June 2, 2012: 2012 Race for Open Space 5K Classic and 3K Run/Walk. The fourth annual Race for Open Space will be held at Green Hill Park, in Roanoke County, VA, west of Salem. The 5K Classic will begin at 8:30 AM and the 3K Run/Walk will begin at 8:45 AM. All proceeds benefit the land preservation efforts of the Western Virginia Land Trust. | Web site.
